Martinis and Margaritas are marvelous, but if you're looking to shake up your cocktail repertoire, these uncommon concoctions are sure to delight your guests and get the party started.
THE CRYSTAL SLIPPER
For the more adventurous, and those who prefer silk velvet to burlap, the Crystal Slipper is your sipper (sorry, we had to). It's as much about aroma as it is flavor and color. The combination of violet and blood oranges could just as easily be used to describe an expensive perfume, which is what comes to mind when you're drinking it.
1/2 oz. Creme de Violette
2 dashes Blood Orange Bitters
1 1/2 oz. Gin
Stir well with cracked ice and strain into 3 oz. cocktail glass

Ramos Gin Fiz
Fluffy and frothy, the Ramos Gin Fiz is the 50/50 bar's sophisticated aunt. Suitable for Sunday brunch or a wedding shower, this cocktail provides inspiration to add orange as an accent color to your gathering's decor.
1 tbsp. superfine sugar
1/2 teaspoon of orange flower water
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 1/2 oz. gin
1 egg white
2 tbsp. heavy cream
Seltzer
Combine all ingredients (except seltzer), shake vigourously and strain into a tall glass. Add seltzer and stir.

Ginger Sangria (for two)
Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur and fresh fruit transform an everyday bottle of red into and exotic experience. Although Ginger Sangria is excellent on it's own, it's also a suitable accompaniment to casual faire.
1/2 bottle red wine (cabernet, syrah, merlot)
2 oz. Domaine de Canton
1 lemon
1 lime
1 orange
Pour red wine and Domaine de Canton into cocktail shaker. Cut the orange in half, slice one half into 1/4" thick slices, and cut each slice in fours, add to shaker. Juice the remaining half into shaker. Repeat for lemon and lime. Stir and pour over crushed ice.

The Pink Lady Fizz
The Pink Lady Fizz is a cheeky flirt. She's bubbly, flowery and means business. Gin is transformed here with a little St. Germain, fresh raspberry syrup, and lime juice. St. Germain, the elderflower liquor, generally enhances anything it comes into contact with, especially if paired with citrus. Don't let the pink color fool you, this is a seriously delicious cocktail.
2 oz. gin
2 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. St. Germaine
1/2 oz. fresh rasberry syrup *recipe below
splash of soda
