On September 24 at the PDC, Traditional Home, celebrating their 20th anniversary, presented a panel discussion on the past, present, and future of design.  Moderated by Candace Ord Manroe, Traditional Home's Senior Design Editor, the panel consisted of  Tobi Fairley of Tobi Fairley Interior Design, Joe Lucas of Lucas Studio, Inc., Windsor Smith of Windsor Smith Home, Peter Dunham of Peter Dunham Design, and Shane Reilly of Decorati.com

Manroe's questions ranged from the use of technology to current trends.  The designers commented on their work as it was displayed on the screen behind them, and engaged in conversation with each other about their design process.

Peter Dunham explains his use of pale, simple colors as a base,  with strong color as an accent.

Tobi Fairley spoke of her love of color and using the view from a room's window as inspiration for a color palette.

When discussing her designs, Windsor Smith said, "I try to create an experience that's palpable."

Joe Lucas talked about helping clients with their wardrobe as well as their homes.

Shane Reilly founder of Decorati.com was the go to girl for technology questions, such as how technological advances have effected the design world.  Reilly described how Decorati.com can be an excellent tool for designers searching for product lines at the last minute or in the comfort of their own homes.  Also mentioned was the speed at which products come to market due being able to launch via the internet.

Happy 20th anniversary to Traditional Home!
